The 4000th Murcielago is not an ordinary one. It is an LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. For those who might not know, that is the top of the line Murcielago that you can get your hands on. It is the high powered, lightweight version of the super car.

The celebrated Murci can rush from 0 to 60 in a blink of 3.2 seconds and boasts of 670 horsepower output from its V-12 6.5L mid-mounted engine. The limited run of the SuperVeloce series will only produce 350 units.

Lamborghini built only 2,900 units of its previous supercar Diablo over its run of 11 years. Looking at the production, Lambo made a 38% improvement in production comparing the Diablo and Murcielago runs.

It is a fact that despite the global economic crisis, China’s market for cars remain to be very competitive and is in a fast pace compared to the days of the Model T. The Murcielago name literally means bat in Spanish but much of the tag is attributed to a bull which had the same name and survived 24 strikes of sword during a bull fight in 1879.

The Lamborghini Murcielago was introduced as replacement to the Diablo in 2001. Fifty units of the two-door Murcielago were produced to celebrate Lamborghinis 40 years in business in 2003. It’s a perfect choice when renting a Lamborghini in Las Vegas!

A Murcielago Roadster rolled out from the Lamborghini assembly line in 2004 boasting of the same performance and a more macho stance than the original release.

A V12 engine powers the Murcielago and this is coupled with either a manual transmission or an automatic sequential transmission. The newer Murcielago LP640 sports a stronger engine producing 633 bhp and had some aesthetic facelifts.

There is also the Versace version which elegantly used Versace material for the interiors. Each of the seats in this Murcielago version costs $10000.

Murcielago Sport Veloce is the top car of this brand with some concept cars like the Miura and the Reventon using the DNA of the Murcielago. Lamborghini Jota is set to be released in 2010.
