Thanks to Horacio Pagani himself, some of the details about the car is really satisfying the ears of supercar lovers. The C9 will have a V-12 6.0L power plant on a twin turbo that will be sourced from the Mercedes-AMG. The output of the C9 will be a whopping 700 horsepower and a torque of 737 pound-feet.

The numbers are a bit lower compared to the 750 hp of the Zonda R but they are still within the supercar range that can run side by side with the Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero TT and the Bugatti Veyron.

The production run might just be limited to 60 cars but that is a big jump from the 16 hand built units every year. The boost in productions will be supported by the new state of the art facility near its Modena factory. The assembly will still be painstaking with the C9 having 3,70 parts which include a chassis made from carbon-titanium, specially designed Pirelli tires, and electronics from Bosch.

The Zonda will slow down its production until it ceases with the roll out of the C9 which has a starting price expected to be at $1.2 million.

The 4000th Murcielago is not an ordinary one. It is an LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. For those who might not know, that is the top of the line Murcielago that you can get your hands on. It is the high powered, lightweight version of the super car.

The celebrated Murci can rush from 0 to 60 in a blink of 3.2 seconds and boasts of 670 horsepower output from its V-12 6.5L mid-mounted engine. The limited run of the SuperVeloce series will only produce 350 units.

Lamborghini built only 2,900 units of its previous supercar Diablo over its run of 11 years. Looking at the production, Lambo made a 38% improvement in production comparing the Diablo and Murcielago runs.

If you are curious where the 4,000th Murci was delivered, then you should look at one of the biggest economies in the world today, China. It is a fact that despite the global economic crisis, China’s market for cars remain to be very competitive and is in a fast pace compared to the days of the Model T. Lamborghini has locked their eyes on meeting the demand of the Chinese market. About 25% of Lamborghini’s production is now heading to Asia Pacific.

Aston Martin planned a very limited run for the V12 Vantage with only 1000 units rolling out of their assembly plants. None of the cars are scheduled to go to North America but the topman of Aston Martin informed and assured the public during the Frankfurt motor show that the much awaited Vantage will land on American soil.

The update is really a good news for those who can not wait for the roar of the Aston Martin V-12’s engine. The car can output 510 horsepower with a torque of 420 lb-ft. The Vantage can blast from 0 to 52 mph in a blink of 4.2 seconds and can register a top speed of 190mph.

The website of Aston Martin still says that the Vantage V12 will still have a very limited one-year run but we are pretty sure it will be updated soon.

The V12 Vantage is still on a long path to the U.S. The car needs to meet the set safety standards with reasonable concerns on the crumple zones on its V8 sibling being occupied by the bigger engine of the more powerful car.

The Aston Martin top executive also expressed his high hopes on the Rapide which is designed to meet head on the Porsche Panamera.

The open top version of the Reventon is expected to debut during the Frankfurt Auto Show. This will be a very limited run where only nine or ten Reventon Roadster will be built. It will run on a V12 powerplant and is expected to have a before taxes sticker price of $1, 639,993.

Lamborghini has no official statement yet but there are speculations that high rollers like professional sports icons and the rest of the elit will flock Germany to get a chance of writing a check for a Reventon Roadster.

The new variant of the Reventon might get more power than the current release which outputs 679 horsepower with a torque of 487 pound feet. Most likely Lamborghini will put in the roadster’s engine bay an engine with similar genes to the Murcielago LP670-4 SV that blasts 670hp.

The Reventon Roadster will also get Lambo’s all wheel drive system and a semi-automatic transmission. Car experts are also expecting better numbers than the 0 to 62mph sprint of the current Reventon at 3.4 seconds with top speed hitting 211 mph. The new Reventon will definitely be a more powerful supercar.

The Roadster Zonda Cinque is among the ultimate exclusive cars you can get your hands on with only five units going on production. Like the coupe Zonda Cinqeu, the Roadster will be assembled at the Modenese Atelier.

Who will not be fascinated about a car which weighs a mere 1,210kg? The Zonda Cinque’s roadster version is basically same as the coupe but it’s carbon-titanium body has been reworked to compensate for the open air driving environment.

The car is there to awe everyone whether you are cruising the hills of Tuscany, driving through the streets of Florence, or stopping at hot Renaissance stops in Italy. The handling and performance of the $1.8 million supercar is a result of the improved high technology gearbox and adjustable setup of the suspension.

The roadster is powered by a version of a V12 7.L powerplant which runs its other Zonda siblings. This powertrain can generate an exciting 678hp and about 57lb-ft of torque. The Zonda Cinque Roadster only takes 3.4 seconds to blast from 0 to 62mph. Top speed can reach beyond 200mph.

Other good stuff are included in the package. This includes PZero wheels from Pirelli combined with 19 and 20 inch aluminum rims, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, exhaust system in titanium, and seats made of carbon fiber with leather trimmings.

Lamborghini insiders reveal that the company has set its goals to reduce the CO2 emissions of its fleet by as much as 35% come 2015. Engineers and designers plan to hit their target by making lighter vehicles, more fuel efficient powertrains, using stop start systems, and looking into biofuel and hybrid technologies.

Other luxury brands like Ferrari and Bentley have committed to do the same in the next generation of their vehicle ranges.

Ferrari turns green with the F430 Spider running on biofuel. It is logical for Ferrari to invest in more efficient platforms since 10% of their total sales come from California which implements one of the toughest emission guidelines.

Bentley is also cleaning up its act. The car manufacturer aims to lower their fleets emissions by as much as 15% by 2012. Aside from going for 120g/km of CO2 emission, Bentley also wants to improve fuel mileage by 40%.

Lamborghini’s achievement on the green race is the fast and furious 560-4 Gallardo LP which spits 18% less particulates of CO2 compared to the standard release.

Lamborghini wants to improve its company’s image and credibility in the market and is spending Euros 35 million through the next 5 years to fund their greener operations. Even their factories will use photovoltaic cells by 2010 to decrease CO2 release by 30%.

Some other cars in the top 20 has a clear link between the cost of insurance and the vehicle class like the SUV’s X6 from BMW, Escalade from Cadillac, and the Land Rover.

On the other end of the line were the cheapest to insure cars. They are not on the luxury side of the market but are big on safety. All top 5 were from South Korean manufacturers Kia and Hyundai. The minivan sector also had favorable insurance tags.

Starting 2011, the McLaren team in Woking, England will be boosting its production of the P11s which rival the F430 of Ferrari by 1000 units per year. The plant has been producing around 2000 SLR every year for Mercedes Benz. The production of P8s is aimed to be around 4000 units to match the fleets of Porsche 911.

The new McLaren F1 supercar is engineered to rewrite the records set by the F1 which caught the spotlight in 1992 as the auto world discovered its 240 mph reading on its speedometer.

Frank Stephenson, the Mclaren Automotive Design director, is said to be on the drawing boards sketching the replacement for the F1 styled by Peter Stevens.

The design team has a clean sheet to start with not worrying of any architectural limitations like those set for the P11. The McLaren team is still thinking of the direction which they should take with the new F1.

Stephenson is known for spearheading the design works for the first mini and X5 of the BMW, the MC12 of Maserati, and the rebirth of the Fiat 500.

The car designer notes the space McLaren has in building the range of production sports cars with P11 as the building block. Creativity, technology, and advancements will provide a big room in the development of new sports car for the manufacturer.

The P11, P8, and the next generation F1 supercar will contribute in broadening the base of the McLaren sports car range.

Saleen Inc.’s future is a little clearer today after the Michigan Group’s purchase. Late last year, Saleen’s performance street car program and supercharger was purchased by MJ Acquisitions. The deal included the aftermarket business in Los Angeles formerly owned by Hancock Park Associates.

Among the few of Hancock’s remaining properties include Saleen’s supercars: the S5 and S7 Raptor concept, and the Viper paint-shop operation.

For now, ASC, Saleen’s sister company, is also still under the management of Hancock. The terms of the sale with MJ Acquisitions were not disclosed to the public.

This year also saw the stepping down of Saleen President Chris Thedore from position. He is set to leave by the end of February, and is currently closing the sales of what’s left of Saleen, Inc.

A number of Saleen’s top executives already left the company last year. This downfall seems to have been initiated by the departure of Saleen’s founder in 2007.

Although parts of Saleen, Inc. is under new hands, the new owners still plan to continue the company’s legacy. Saleen has been associates with powerful Mustangs since 1984. The company was also responsible for several Ford engines.

The new owners say that they are only looking at possible prospects to stabilize their footing, but they still see a lot of promise for the company in the industry.
